Christmas is behind us and the New
Year looms ahead. It can be a bitter-sweet time of the year. What will I do with
it?

The topic of New Year's resolutions has been done to death, so I won't dwell
on that. Resolving to lose weight, eat healthier, or be more organized is
usually short-lived. Why do I feel I can only set goals at the beginning of a
special date on the calendar?
I want to change myself into a better
individual by improving who I am. Maybe I should start by renewing
myself through reading scripture more often. The improvements I seek would
then follow--according to God's plan.
"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." - Romans 12:2
Happy New Year and God Bless,
Carole
You are so right about resolutions, Carole. I think we discourage our own selves from feeling like we are expected to make those sometimes impossible goals on our own. I know I do sometimes. Thank you for the reminder that if I read scripture more, the rest will fall into place, making me more like Jesus along the way. Hope to see you soon!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your reinforcement. We have to stick together and remind each other that Jesus is the way--through His word we grow. God bless you!
